President Goodluck Jonathan, The president of Nigeria, on the 8th February, 2012 commissioned the Adikpo-Ikyogen-Jato Aka road rehabilitated by Benue State Governor, Dr. Gabriel Suswam, at Adikpo in Kwande local government area.

Speaking during the brief ceremony at the NKST Primary School, Adikpo President Jonathan said the road would among other uses enable farmers in the area to evacuate farm produce to the  markets.
He stated that roads were critical in the drive toward development and commended Governor Suswam for investing heavily in the provision of infrastructure.
He stated that he had listened to requests made by Kwande council chairman, Chief Terlumun Akputu, and would discuss the details with him in the course of his visit. Earlier in  welcome speech, Akputu had among many things, requested for a tertiary institution and development of border settlements.
Dr. Jonathan expressed appreciation to the people for the support they gave during last year's polls.
Senate President, Senator David Mark in his remarks said Governor Suswam has justified his mandate as the Governor of the state by executing projects that cut across its length and breath.

Governor Suswam said the 60-kilometers road was rehabilitated by P W Nigeria Limited.
In his welcome remarks, Chief Akputu requested the federal government to provide a tertiary institution to cater for products of the numerous secondary schools in the area and also construct a boarder post on the council's border with the republic of Cameroon.
President Jonathan and his entourage who came in six helicopters had earlier commissioned the Otobi Water Works in Otukpo.
They proceeded to Katsina-Ala to commission the new water works there and to Anyiin to commission the Amaafu-Ugba-Anyiin road before returning to Makurdi where he commissioned the new Governor's Lodge.

  1. The people of KWANDE will continue to put their eyes up pending the day their yearnings will be listened to. Ordinarily, Kwande people deserve more than what Akputu requested but he knows the crop of leaders our society has; they listen but will never do. May GOD save us from these vampires
