 ALL EYES ON JUMPA
If there is one man that seems to be causing a stir in the chairmanship race in Kwande ,then that man is Comrade Jumpa Tyopase Emmanuel, the Benue State Secretary of Nigeria Labour Congress(NLC). Although Jumpa has not made known his intension, for a while now, pressure and several interests groups  in the local government have vowed to give their support to him should he come out to declare his intension. One of the groups which is planning to run a Facebook account to gather support for Jumpa shortly the general elections are out, has told KSN that, “Comrade Jumpa’s candidature is a serious project, it is not political party based, sentiment based, or sectional based. Jumpa is a candidate for all, and we don’t mind using our personal money to make sure that Jumpa enters the council”.
The group which goes by the name Team Jumpa has revealed that right now, they are urging the comrade to contest. “Our main concern now is the seeming indecision from the comrade. As at now, we are yet to know for sure if he is contesting or not. So we wish to urge him on to contest because we believe in him. We know he has the will to turn things around for the better. Once we are able to convince him to run, then all our activities we commence.”
Meanwhile a close friend of the comrade has told KSN that Comrade Jumpa will definitely contest chairmanship election. The friend who does not want to be mentioned noted that, “oh yes, Jumpa will contest. In short, he is in the last batch of consultation and soon he shall make his decision Known, and believe you, Jumpa will beat any contestant in the chairmanship race because he has a track record of success where he goes. He is the servant – leader that Kwande needs”. The friend said.
Jumpa is favoured because of his generosity and intelligence.

Benue Guber Race: Torkuma Dares Torwua
Rt. Hon Gabriel Suswam, the governor of Benue State, who has re-emerged as People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) candidate for the governorship election in Benue state has finally gotten a match for the April 19th polls. His main opponent is Prof Steve Torkuma Ugbah who is running on the plat form of Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN). In this news analysis, we look at the emergence of the professor and how far he can go.
Chief Abu king Shuluwa, Sema wam u Tiv, a political orator and strategist who was the Guest Speaker during the official declaration of Suswams intention to vie for another term in office at Ushongo, is reported to have told him that, “Since Prof. Iorwuese Hagher, Prof. Mvendaga Jibo, Prof. Saint Gbilekaa and I are not contesting from sankera axis, then be rest assurd that you have won. Why these bill board? The money for these should be redirected to something else”
That was the spirit in Suswam’s Camp before the emergency of Steve Ugbah. Although between March-April 2010, a certain retired director with police Pensions Board, Jonathan Biam, of blessed memory, had made an appearance and publicly declared that he was interested in the race but by early October, 2010 when Suswam Officially Re launched his election bid, it was clear to every body  that Late Jonathan Biam could not match the incumbent weight of Suswam. So true to Shuluwa’s statement, when Jonathan Biam eventually died, it became clear that Suswam was on his way back to the governor’s office.
But all that changed, with the unexpected emergence of Prof Steve Ugbah, who like Jonathan Biam was little known before his declaration. After so many years out of the country, Prof Steve Ugbah suddenly appeared. His first major appearance of year was will Wantargh Paul Unongo, who is his uncle, at the burial of late Chief Mrs Magret Gom, on Friday 17th September, 2010 at Adikpo, Kwande Local Government. Shortly after that appearance, the active local media, reported that,Dr Ayu Sen. Dr. Akume and Wantaregh Paul Unongo were planning to field Prof. Ugbah to challenge Suswam. Unongo Publically refuted this allegation and Ayu and Akume didn’t confirm it.
By December last year, after the Ugbah’s rumours persisted for some time, his posters come out every where, although without party Logo. Shortly it was speculated that, he would either contest on the plat form of CPC or ACN because it was clear at this moment that, nobody was going to get PDP governorship slot apart from Suswam. Now that he has finally settled for ACN, what are his chances?
Prof Steve Ugbah whichever way one looks at, is the main challenger of Suswam. His strength funnily, does not even lie in the fact that the people know what he can do, but it’s because they are dissatisfied with the leadership style of Suswa. When governor Suswam came on board, he publicly noted that unlike his predecessor George Akume, he was not going to share money but make sure that the infrastructure of the state was developed. Good as this sounded, he rather drew this anger of people who were used to the politics of money sharing.
Secondly, it is an open secret that, it was George Akume who single handly made him the governor, but second year in his administration the duo fell apart and this further brought loyalists of the former governor against him. We suppose the straw that broke the camel’s back was the inability of PDP to handle her just concluded party primaries. As a result which must members of party left to the opposition. So Ugbah is riding on the wings of system failure.
More so, Prof. Ugbah’s tall academic profile is counting for him. Between 1978-1986 it is believed  he has gotten a BSc, MA, MPA, and PHD in Microbiology, international affairs (specializing in Development studies) and Quantitative Research methods, communication, Specializing in organizational communication and Quantitative Research methods, respectively.
Lately, there have been media reports that, Wantaregh Paul Unongo who before now supported Governor Suswam is gradually giving his support to Ugbah. All these are counting for he professor and the Suswam Camp will definitely have to go beyond Abu King Shuluwa type of bragging to remain politically relevant.

WHY I DEFECTED TO ACN
Hon. Benjamin Begha Nungwa, the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) House of Assembly flag bearer, Kwande West, has revealed to KSN that, he defected from PDP to ACN because he no longer knew his fate in PDP.
Hon. Nungwa Made this revelation in a chat with KSN reporters in his office recently. “There was a conspiracy against me in PDP. Some persons carried false rumours to the governor that, I was against him, that I was working for Akume” he said.
He noted that, though it was quite unfortunate for the governor to have believed such lies. “I serve the Suswam government for three years; I wooed those who had left the party back to it as the co-ordinator of New Benue foundation agenda, I spent resources especially in the villages to compliment the efforts of the governor but in the ends, I was paid bad for doing good” Hon. Nungwa said.
The young man who has longed left PDP decried that, “I had people who would haved tabled my case before Suswam but none did, so in  the end, he took a decision that fell short of what I expected from him, surprisingly,  the people who worked against me can’t say why they did so. Because we were best of friends. I didn’t know if I had offended them, but they never offended me”.
He said that, Kwande people don’t like imposition of candidates because if it is done, the people will react. So the governor would have allowed the people of choose their candidates
